Why a London firm for clients in India

Many of the people we work with are engineers, researchers and founders based in India. Our founder, Shailendra Pathak, made the same move himself, from India to the UK on a merit-based visa. We know the questions Indian applicants tend to have, and the particular issues that come up for Indian profiles on each route.

We don't have an office in India. Everything is done remotely, with calls scheduled around Indian working hours.

Routes that suit Indian professionals

UK Global Talent

Popular with senior engineers, product leaders and researchers. One point catches many people out: Tech Nation's list of roles excludes service delivery, outsourcing, consultancy, ERP consultancy and systems administration, and business skills must be used in-house at a product-led company. UK Innovator Founder

For founders with an innovative idea they want to build in the UK. There's no fixed minimum investment, but the business has to convince an endorsing body. See the eligibility guide.

US EB-1A and O-1A

For people at the top of their field. The EB-1A is a green card you can file yourself, but India-born applicants have faced a queue for EB-1 visa numbers in recent years, so check the Visa Bulletin. Many people work on an O-1A while they wait. Read EB-1A vs O-1A.

Australia National Innovation visa

Permanent residency by invitation for people with an internationally recognised record. Strongest for people in Australia's priority sectors, such as critical technologies and health. See NIV eligibility.

Germany EU Blue Card

For graduates with a German job offer at the salary threshold. Check that your Indian university and degree are recognised in the anabin database early. IT specialists can qualify with experience instead of a degree. Read the Blue Card guide.

Practical points for applicants from India

• TB test. UK visa applicants from India need a tuberculosis test from an approved clinic.
• Documents. Degree certificates, mark sheets and experience letters on letterhead. Get originals and certified copies ready early.
• Recommendation letters. For the talent routes, letters from people outside your employer carry more weight. Start those conversations early.
• Money. Official fees are paid in pounds, dollars, Australian dollars or euros. Budget for exchange rate changes.

A word on choosing a consultant

Be careful with anyone who guarantees a visa, asks for a large upfront payment before assessing you, or suggests a route without looking at your evidence. No adviser controls a government decision.
